‘Belfast is a fast evolving city. It is changing in ways we can smell and feel through our fingers and out our bones. Much of its industrial heritage has been replaced with new activities and the economic base of the city has moved decisively towards the service sector, manufacturing is so passé. These changes have impacted upon the fabric of the city. New hotels and office towers now puncture the skyline, while old factories have either been converted for luxury living pods or demolished into holes of nothingness.

This is the time for unique forecasting models to be developed for Belfast, providing insights into its future direction, based on a robust baseline analysis across a range of economic indicators.
