URBAN PLAYGROUND
For the London and Berlin based art-collective, the re-discovery of the city
as urban playground and the creative examination of urban life is one of the
tasks and responsibilities of the contemporary artist. For this project, Luna
Nera has chosen the Drawing Offices of the former Harland &Wolff Headquarters
as magic focal point for their artistic exploration. The multi-media documentation
will be shown at PS2, Donegall Street.
In a Special Event on Saturday 27.08, Luna Nera will work in the Drawing Offices
with site-responsive installations and film-projection. In this once world leading
creative powerhouse for the design of ships (including the Titanic) in Belfast,
the project will analyse its dormant potential and the relationship between
the remains of the area, its buildings and waterfront, with the grand structures
and remarkable overlooking landscape of the city.
